About MightDrop

MightDrop watches prices so you don't have to keep refreshing a product page and hoping. It's like Santa Claus for your inbox, if he was delivering news of a price drop instead of free shit.

Why it exists

Prices move and we don't really notice. Sometimes retailers fat-finger things, or their systems get buggy. This is a great way to cop a drop.

So this checks for you. Right now that means Costco, with more on the way once they actually work.

Why the name

Idk, I had a site called HeheStreams once (more on that below). It wasn't that brandable because it was meant to be a joke. I had this domain, it's a nice domain and it fits the need.

How I run it

MightDrop makes monies in two ways:

  1. You pay us for a subscription.
  2. We add a referral/affiliate link when we (hopefully) tell you about a price dropping.

I'm not going to sale your data. I'm not going to share it. I might retarget you at some point, but I haven't decided on that yet. I collect the device identifier (user agent) of what you're using to use the site for abuse prevention and curiosity purposes. I use your IP for abuse prevention and to get a better understanding of who is coming from where.

MightDrop is free to use and there are no ads. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with advertisers, and our analytics run on our own servers. We collect what it takes to watch your prices and email you, and the Privacy Policy lists every bit of it, vendors included.

Right now I only send you email you about the things you asked me to watch, and information about your account. I don't have newsletters setup. If I do, I'd send them irregularly—like once every 38 days or something. "Why 38?" I do not know.

Who's behind it, and a disclaimer

MightDrop is made by Suddenly Dawn, LLC, a small entity that creates web thingies. I do my best to fix thingies before dawn.

A brief disclaimer, because I'd rather you hear it from me before you Google it: I went to federal prison for internet piracy and hacking. It's a long story. What was reported in the media from 2021 to 2023 differs from my account of what happened. Read more about me and the whole prison thing.
