Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about MightDrop. Can't find what you're looking for? Get in touch with our support team.
MightDrop watches the price of something you want and emails you when it drops to the price you picked. You paste a product link, tell us how much cheaper it has to get, and we check it every 15 minutes until it gets there (or until you get bored of waiting and stop watching it, or your plan's time on it runs out).
The name is the whole pitch. It might drop. We'll tell you if it does.
Paste a product link and we pull the product and its current price from the store. Then you pick your number: the most you'd pay. Type a price, or tap a quick pick like 10% off and we'll fill it in. When it drops to that or lower, we email you.
For Costco you can watch the online price or pick up to 5 specific warehouses, since warehouse prices don't always match the website.
After that we check every 15 minutes. The first time the price lands at or below your number, you get an email with the price and a link straight to the product.
Right now, Costco.
Yes, the home page shows more logos than that. There's an explanation behind the "+ 8 more" button and it's a little embarrassing. Paste a link from a store we don't support yet and we'll count it and ask for your email, so we can tell you when that store actually works.
Not in the fill-out-a-sign-up-form sense. When you track your first item we ask for your email and send you a code. Type it in and that's your account.
Next time, sign in with a link we email you. A password is optional; we'll offer to set one after you confirm an item, and you can ignore it.
Yes. I'm not charging for anything yet, since it only does Costco and I don't really know what it'll become.
You can watch up to 3 items at a time. Want to add another once you're at the limit? Drop one from My items first. Or if you need higher limits, webhook alerts, Pushover, or texts, email me and I'll bump up your plan for free.
Every 15 minutes on the free plan, counted from the last check of each item. If a price drops at 2:05, you'll hear about it within 15 minutes or so.
Stores occasionally get grumpy about being checked that often, so now and then a check fails. The next one usually picks up the slack.
On the free plan, 7 days. The clock starts when you start watching an item, and restarting it starts the clock over. The pricing page has the numbers for every plan.
When the time's up we stop checking and send you one email saying so. The item stays in My items marked Ended, and it stops counting toward your limit, so you can restart it or let it go and track something else.
No. We only email about drops. If the price climbs back above your number, we keep watching and don't bother you about it.
You'll hear from us again if it gets cheaper than the last price we emailed you about, or if it climbs back up and then drops to your number again.
We keep what it takes to do the job: your email address, the items you're watching, and the prices you want. We never see payment details because there aren't any.
Analytics run on our own servers (page views, clicks, and a rough location from your IP address), so there are no ad trackers on the site. A couple of vendors help run things: Postmark sends our emails, and Cloudflare runs the "are you a person" check.
Every price-drop email has a link to stop watching that item, which deletes it. Want your whole account gone? Email hello@mightdrop.com and we'll delete it.
Yes, up to 3 items at once. Each one gets its own alert price, and you can change it or stop watching from My items.
Because there's nothing an app could do here that the website can't. Push notifications, an icon on your home screen, opening it with one tap: the website already does all of that.
I could build one anyway, since an app store listing is a little more convenient to find. But asking you to download something that does the exact same thing as a link feels morally skewed to me, and I can't justify it.
You can still add MightDrop to your home screen and get push notifications. It takes about a minute.
Email hello@mightdrop.com and a real person will write back. If something broke, include the product link and roughly what happened. It makes the fix go a lot faster.
